The 15th MEMS Annual Congress (MAC 15), organised by the Malaysia Endocrine & Metabolic Society (MEMS), brought together a diverse multidisciplinary community of healthcare professionals dedicated to advancing endocrine and metabolic care. Guided by the theme “Mind The Gap: Translating Knowledge Into Practice,” the congress focused on bridging evidence-based research with real-world clinical application.
MAC 15 attracted 1,040 participants from 15 countries, including endocrinologists, primary care physicians, internal medicine specialists, allied healthcare professionals, trainees, and industry leaders. This broad representation underscored the congress’s role as a key regional platform for collaborative learning and cross-specialty engagement.
The scientific programme featured high-impact plenary sessions by international speakers, focused symposia, and lively clinical debates addressing contemporary challenges in endocrinology. A specialised pre-congress workshop, “Thyroid Cancers 360°,” provided in-depth, practical insights into thyroid cancer management. One of the congress highlights was the MAC Olympiad Endocrine Challenge Cup, an annual competitive event that encouraged knowledge application, teamwork, and active participation.
Through a carefully curated programme combining education, interaction, and innovation, MAC 15 successfully reinforced MEMS’s commitment to improving endocrine practice and patient outcomes by closing the gap between knowledge and clinical practice.
