BE @ Penang 2025, supported by the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB), brought together business event professionals, marketers and industry leaders under the theme “BE THE WAVE.” More than a conference, #BEPG25 was a movement celebrating how business events inspire innovation, connect communities and create lasting impact.
The event featured a dynamic programme of keynote speeches, masterclasses, workshops and fireside chats. Highlights included a keynote by Mr. Hiroshi Tamura, celebrated as the Father of the Modern GT-R, who shared insights on disruptive innovation and building transformative ideas that shape industries. Another standout was Dr. Bona Nahyun Lee, who explored AI’s transformative role in business events, introducing the BYOA (Bring Your Own AI) trend and a six-step AI-powered event management framework. She demonstrated how tools like ChatGPT, DALL-E, Perplexity and NotebookLM enhance every stage of event planning, emphasizing curiosity, reverse thinking and domain knowledge as keys to leveraging AI effectively.
Other programme highlights included masterclasses on inclusive event experiences and practical business event marketing, a fireside chat on Penang’s green event legacy and a session on digital risk management. Through hands-on exercises, interactive discussions, and thought-provoking keynotes, BE @ Penang 2025 empowered participants to embrace innovation, harness AI strategically, and shape the future of business events.
