The Diabetes and Ramadan Conference 2025, held on 13–14 December 2025 at the Medical Academies of Malaysia, Putrajaya, successfully brought together healthcare professionals and expert speakers committed to advancing safe, evidence-based diabetes care during Ramadan. The DAR Organising Secretariat extends its sincere appreciation to all delegates and faculty whose participation made this inaugural conference impactful and meaningful.
Guided by the words of our Organising Chair, Datuk Dr. Zanariah Hussein, “Our ultimate calling is to seek knowledge and translate it into service for humanity,” the conference highlighted the importance of translating science into clinical practice. Through expert-led sessions, updated guidelines, and practical discussions, participants were equipped with essential knowledge and strategies to support patients who observe fasting during Ramadan.
With Ramadan 2026 approaching in just two months, the call to action continues beyond the conference. Healthcare professionals are encouraged to begin early pre-Ramadan assessments, implement the evidence-based clinical guidelines and medication adjustments shared during DAR 2025, and prioritise the principles of safe fasting to reduce complications. Together, guided by expert faculty, we can work towards a safer Ramadan for our patients and communities.
